Uyo Town Church of Christ established in 1969 first met upstairs at No. 20 Oron Read, Uyo. Few years later, land was acquired at the present location at No. 20 Pual Bassey Street, Uyo.

The growth of the Church has been geometrical, from 20 members in 1969 to about 1000 members in 2017 0ccupying a 1500 – capacity two storey building.

The Church is shepherded by a five – member Eldership and two deacons. From its inception in 1969, only two preachers have piloted the affairs of the Church, namely late Brother Ekpe Andrew Ufot and Brother Edet Archibong Udo Ekong. Besides the congregation financially supports gospel work in more than 12 other congregations spanning Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Kogi states on monthly basis. Also, Church Bulletin – The trumpet – is printed and issued freely quarterly to Christians and congregations.

The mission of this church is to preach the sound gospel and win souls for Christ in line with the scripture. This is tirelessly done using the media, materials, human resources and the brotherhood of the Church.
The cardinal vision is to groom every soul to be acceptable to God for the (heavenly) mansions above.
